Getting Ready for the Goodbye's

It is always hard to say goodbye to some one especially if they are in high standings in your life. Here at Killian High School I have a big family. The Marching Band which is 145 students, Badminton Team (22 students), the 7th period Performing Arts Academy (9 students). And with those students are many more from different clubs, grades, and classes. I will see some still after high school, but to see them all in the same environment is impossible.

As a leader in the school it is hard to say good bye to the followers. They do so much to help you. And you can not say thank you enough to them for their help. And thats the same thing they say to me. Being at school for 14 hours each day shows the comitment to the program and the dedication to get everything done, and to get it done right. I leave the great memories in my mind. But I leave the life long lessons and hard work with the students and the school. And one day I will be back. But not as a student, but as a Teacher. Holding the same position that I respected.

We Bust Ours To Smash Yours

Badminton, known to the world as the fastest racket sport. Known to me as a fun time to make fun of rival high schools. I myself have been playing since about ten years old. I enjoy the game that I look foward to practice after school and to have fun with the other players. My sophomore year was the first year I was on the Killian High School Team. The Motto that was all memorized was, "We Bust Ours To Smash Yours!!!" And it was true. We practiced every day for two and a half hours for 3 months straight. We had a great season that year. Coming in second place overall in the county match known as GMAC.

Then eventually my junior year came around and it was that time of the year. I was ready to play and beat whoever I would be playing. This year Coach Kelly decided to match us up wirth the top schools and still play out district schools. which in total ment 25 games will be played this year. We worked hard and won 24 our of 25 games. And Came in second place again in the GMAC tournament.

Now Senior Year. My position as Captain and as Boys doubles 1 has brought the team far this year. My own personal record with my partner is 16-2, the best we have ever had. My partner also Placed 2 for the GMAC District South match. We played Palmetto, Coral Reef, Varela, and Terra. Now we go onto the GMAC Finals on April 27,2010. We will have all four districts there fighting for the number one spot. Good Luck to all the teams going.

Number One Band

The Killian senior high bands are known locally, state wide, and nationally. This year alone at district evaluation for marching band, was rated straight superiors. this was the fourteenth year that the Marching Cougar band was rated with straight superiors. Along with the marching band was superior with distinction for Drum majors, which that was my proudest award to receive. And along with the superior with distinction we were rated best in class Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion. The color guard, which is part of the band family as we know it, also was rated straight superiors.

And then concert season came around and first up was The Miami Killian Senior High School Concert Jazz Band. At a district level was rated with straight superiors, and at a state level was rated overall superior. then along with the Jazz band was six soloist and one ensemble. All being rated with straight superiors at the district level. And at the state level was two superiors, four excellent, and one excellent ensemble. All which were the best ratings. Then the Killian Wind Ensemble went to districts and was rated straight superiors for the sixteenth year in a row. And on April 28th the Wind Ensemble is going to be rated at state level. Mr. John Bixby, director of bands at Killian High School, said, "Only time will tell what is to become of the Wind Ensemble."
